[RL; forward-dated after Kyrie's rescue and Weeping Angels battle]

It was finally over. Nero and Dante had finished that damn statue off, and now they were safe for the time being. He let out a sigh of relief, sheathing Red Queen as he walked away from the battlefield, closing his eyes. He guessed he would have to thank Vergil later; but...to be perfectly honest, he decided to just sling another slew of insults his way later. It sounded better.

The young hunter glanced back to Dante for a moment, nodding in thanks. This was another thing that he owed him for...damn. He chuckled to himself a bit as he resumed his steady walk. This keeps up and I'll probably end up having to do jobs for him.

"...Kyrie..." He smiled slightly as he saw her ahead, not stopping until he was a few paces in front of her, hesitating for a moment. "....I..." He shook his head, closing the gap and embracing her. "I'm sorry I didn't come sooner..."

It had been such a terrifying ordeal. How such an ordinary stroll through the ruins of Fortuna would turn into such a nightmare… the life of peace she and Nero once knew seems so long ago -- but she was loved and that is all that mattered. She remembered the horrific faces of the Weeping Angels as they all cornered her and reached out. Then, before she even realised what had happened, she was sent back 2,000 years. A desperate time for humans, but she managed to find shelter so was not exposed to any danger during that time.

And her face lit up in an instant when she saw him -- he’d rescued her. And she knew he would… he has never let her down and she knew he never would as long as there was a single breath in his body. It was what kept her feeling safe back there.

Nero embraced her. She clings to him tightly, trying to hold back the tears of happiness and the relief of being in his arms again. “Nero, I knew you would,” eventually looking into his eyes, smiling.

He didn't reply right away, he just...stood there, holding her against him. Really, he was just happy that she was okay now, that she wasn't back in time trying to keep herself alive and from becoming some demon's next meal.

She had no idea how torn apart he had been from it, to say the least it was as bad as when she was taken during the whole fiasco with the Order. Now, though...that didn't matter. All that mattered was that she was safe.

He looked at her, just...glad that she was alright. "They won't be coming back...I promise you that much."

She trusted his words concerning the Weeping Angels, “… I know,” she said, “… they didn’t hurt you at all, did they?” her face filling with a worried expression. She knew he was more than capable of defending himself and fighting, but she couldn’t help but worry about her lover.

"I'm fine, Kyrie. Really." The worst part of the whole thing really had just been the fact that he could've lost her...he was just happy she was safe now. He gave her a small smile, raising his left hand up to trace along her jawline for a moment before leaning in and giving her a quick kiss on the lips.
